Showered with Love

Our Mothers were kind enough to organize a baby shower a few weekends ago. And so, after renting a van, filling it with luggage, packing in Chris and Jen and our puppy, we made the long trek to Akron. It's easy to sum up the 6 hour drive in just a few words: "It's a quiet ride in a van with a DVD player".

It was a beautiful weekend, and we had a wonderful time visiting with family. It had been quite some time since we'd seen anyone last. And, as if visiting weren't enough, we were showered with gifts nearly all weekend. I guess having a baby is a big deal!

When we started filling the van with baby toys, diapers, and onesies, it became clear just how fortunate we are. The amount of love we've been shown since announcing our pregnancy is so very comforting. Not to mention, being showered with baby stuff will really help ease our transition to parenthood :-).

Before we become parents though, we've had to do a little "nesting" in our house. All I have to say is, thank goodness for baby showers. If we had been left to our own devices when preparing the nursery, we'd have likely gone bankrupt in a weekend at Babies 'R Us.

So with that, we'll leave you to look at our baby shower pictures. Looking beautiful as ever, Elaine is in her 7th month of pregnancy as you can see on the left. Also, a picture of our van full of baby goodies proves I'm not exaggerating :-).
