Long Overdue Vacation

You don't realize how much you need a vacation until you go on one after three years of vacation-abstinence. It's hard to drop everything and go. But we did good. We got rid of the cell phones, laptops, tv's, and anything else with a power plug. Just Elaine, Me, Henry, and a sack full of books. The way any vacation should be.

This all lead to much relaxation. I'll spare you the details of our 9 hour drive. In short, we stopped half-way in Grand Rapids, MI to show Elaine my high-school, old house, and other sites. Next thing we new, we were setting up tents and soaking up the sun on the beach.

It was great seeing my entire family again. Elaine and I had a blast traveling to the sites of upper Michigan with them. Of course, hours in the car with family can do permanent nerve damage to some (ella, ella, ella, ay, ay, ay), but that's all part of the fun and experience ;-). In the end, we visited some beautiful sites with everyone and even got to hit a couple places alone ourselves.

Best memory you ask? It has to be Aaron going head to head with a stuffed wolf at a little restaurant in Sault (pronounced Sue) Saint Marie. Sorry Aaron, this has to go down in web history :-).
