Vegas Never Sleeps... And Neither Did Mike

It was tough to leave home again after two months of heavy travel. Had my destination not been Vegas, it may have been impossible. But it's not very often one gets to travel to a highly respected conference and stay in the city of lights. It was hard, but yeah... I was excited.

If I could just get one thing out of the way first: No, I did not lose any money. Okay okay, $10 on slots, but that's it :-). At one point, Eric Bryant and I were up $16 on a dollar play. It didn't take long for the gravity of greed's steady pull to yank us back down to zero. It was hardly a big deal though. The beauty of Caesars palace made it easy to avoid gambling, and it all started with the rooms. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Yeah... it was a little bigger than most hotel rooms.

The Blackhat conference (www.blackhat.com) was refreshing. Three days of exploring security vulnerabilities, meeting hackers, and collecting memorabilia was exciting to say the least. On the flip side, keeping up with work back home was exhausting. The agenda looks something like the following:
  • Day one--4 hours of sleep.
  • Day two--3 hours.
  • Day three--2.5 hours plus 8 hours of travel.
Yeah... I was tired.
